This weekend I went on a short trip to Ottawa to visit my good friends Andrea and Mehrzad. I got quite a few photos, both from meandering between places that were familiar when I lived in Ottawa and of their amusing dogs.

PubPol comp written
I wrote the public policy major field exam today, and I feel like it went OK. I have to wait at least two weeks for results, but I would be fairly surprised if I failed. On that basis, I think I will commit to accompanying Toronto350.org to the forthcoming People’s Climate March in Manhattan on September 21st.
Matt Wilder helped me out with some astute reading suggestions.
Busy for a few days
From tomorrow until Thursday, I will be in St. Catherine’s for the annual conference of the Canadian Political Science Association / Association canadienne de science politique. On Friday, there is a Graham White conference at U of T.
Andrea and Mehrzad’s wedding
I have uploaded my photos from the wedding of my friends Andrea and Mehrzad.
Quick Ottawa trip, July 27-8
Tomorrow I am doing a rapid jot over to Ottawa for the wedding of my good friends Andrea and Mehrzad.
It will be four and a half hours on the bus tomorrow, starting at 10:30am and accompanied by comprehensive exam reading material. The wedding is from 7:00pm until 2:00am. I will then be hanging around an all-night diner in Ottawa until it is time to head for my 9:30am return bus.
Spending a bit of time in Ottawa relaxing and visiting friends would surely be pleasant, but many projects are looming over me and I need to prioritize them over other considerations until the end of August.
Photos from the wedding will go online once I find time to process them.
Earth at 1.44 billion kilometers
A couple of days ago, NASA’s Cassini spacecraft photographed the Earth from behind Saturn.
