Notices went up today of a tenant meeting for inhabitants of 160 Argyle. Presumably, it will mostly be about the malfunctioning heating/cooling system, though people will probably bring up the lack of a laundry room and other issues.
The meeting is Thursday, May 26th at 6:00pm. It will be in the common room on the ground floor of 464 Metcalfe.
I cannot attend because I will be photographing an event, but if anyone can provide a debrief on the discussion I would be glad for it.

Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

It might be a good idea to start a Beaver Barracks Residents’ Association. It could be a way of speaking more effectively to the people at the co-op (though I realize a residents’ association within a co-op is a bit absurd).
It may not be altogether inappropriate, though. The Beaver Barracks is the only geothermally heated and cooled building within the CCOC, and we are experiencing unique issues here.
I also feel that in this case, a tenant’s group could be useful as I am finding it quite frustrating trying to get anything resolved on my own. I feel that most of my emails or calls are just being ignored, and issues that I brought to their attention when I got here in December have yet to be addressed. Not sure where to start, but perhaps the Landlord Tenant Board may be of some help? http://www.ltb.gov.on.ca/
Do you know anyone who was able to attend the tenant meeting on the 26th?
