The U of T Leap Manifesto chapter and others organized a walkout today at U of T in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en in their conflict with Coastal GasLink and the BC and federal governments. Participants held St. George street from around 3pm until 4:45pm.

K’JIPUKTUK (HALIFAX) – Today, students across Nova Scotia will walk out of class in support of Wet’suwet’en and Indigenous land and water defenders who are protecting their sovereign and unceded land from harmful oil and gas infrastructure of the Coastal Gas Link Pipeline and militarized force of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Students are demanding the immediate and full implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) as promised in BC Premier John Horgan’s address in March 2019.
B.C. students join nationwide school walkout, block intersections in support of Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs
In Vancouver, Langara College students are blocking the intersection of Cambie Street and 49th Avenue
Hundreds of students took to the streets took to the streets over the lunch hour as part of a nationwide walk-out in solidarity with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs.
The Manitoba branch of the Canadian Federation of Students, which organized the event, said walkouts were planned at the University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg and University of St. Boniface, with high school students involved as well.
A rally was held at noon on the front lawn of the University of Winnipeg, before police escorted marchers down Portage Avenue to Memorial Boulevard and on to the steps of the Manitoba Legislative Building, where a round dance was held and speakers said their piece.
Students in Halifax walk out in support of Wet’suwet’en land defenders
