Chester Arms jazz

Thanks to Daily Info, Hilary and I found something much less generic than a movie to do tonight: specifically, we discovered the entertaining jazz nights that take place every Monday at the Chester Arms on Chester Road, off Iffley Road. There is no cover charge, the music is good, and the atmosphere is a pleasant one. The music begins at 9:00pm. I shall be making a return trip or two during weeks later this term.

  1. Several of the musicians who Hilary conversed with suggested that we go see Celtic music at the Half Moon. Unfortunately, neither of us can recall which night of the week they said it happens on. I will have to try calling them after returning from Paris.

  2. This pub is one I rather like – particularly the oversized wooden chairs. They also host a folk club from time to time, but I hadn’t caught up on their jazz foray.

  3. Antonia,

The Sharron Kraus link doesn’t go anywhere. If you post it again, I can delete the earlier comment.
