In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford. Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

  1. Hello! My father has been the captain of this boat for years when she was on the Onatchiway Lake, in the northern part of the Province of Québec. The MrKane was affected to tow logs on the Onatchiway Lake. She sank in the 60’s and was taken on the surface a little later. After a stop of one year for renovation, she has been re-affected to her former job before she was transported on the Saguenay River , and finally on the Ste-Laurence River. There is a long and interesting story about this boat. We have a lot of pictures of all these events.

  2. Hello – I am so happy to have found your post about the M.R. Kane. Can you please contact me? We are looking into the history of the boat on Lake Onatchiway.

    Thank you!
