Who should I read in Toronto?

Now that I am focused on the move from Canada’s political capital to the economic and cultural capital, I suppose I should start following some key Toronto blogs.

Any suggestions?

A Toronto equivalent to Ottawa’s Apartment613 arts and culture blog would be especially useful.

In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford. Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

  1. Secondary Toronto question: how do people carry around these tiny subway tokens without losing them?

  2. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely give the MeFi meetups a try. A couple happened when I was in Ottawa, but it was always when I was out of town.

  3. I bought a PRESTO card for use with the TTC. Although it’s not very well-integrated with the system, if you live or work at the 8 compatible stations, it reduces the rate at which you have to buy new tokens (which is significant since there is no way to buy tokens with plastic – requires taking out cash every time!)
