Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely give the MeFi meetups a try. A couple happened when I was in Ottawa, but it was always when I was out of town.

I bought a PRESTO card for use with the TTC. Although it’s not very well-integrated with the system, if you live or work at the 8 compatible stations, it reduces the rate at which you have to buy new tokens (which is significant since there is no way to buy tokens with plastic – requires taking out cash every time!)
