In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford.
Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

This is Episode 1 of the “Divestment Generation” mini series, a five episode series exploring the 9 year campaign to win fossil fuel divestment at the University of Toronto! In Episode 1, creators and co-hosts Amanda Harvey-Sánchez and Julia DaSilva speak with “First Gen” divestment organizers – those who were active during the campaign from its inception in 2012 until 2014, around the time of the People’s Climate March in New York City. Our “First Gen” guests are Stuart Basden, Monica Resendes, and Milan Ilnyckyj. In our song segment, CJTO member Rebecca and participants from CJTO’s September 2022 Orientation lead you in the first two verses of a special adaptation of the movement song “Which Side Are You On?”, originally by Pete Seeger.
