My friend Neal has some great thunderstorm photos up.
It is all the more appropriate, given the deluges I managed to get caught in today.
This shot is the most dramatic.

Nice shot.
I am not familiar with Vancouver, do you know what building he used to get that vantage point of the city skyline? If it even was a building, it looks like it may have been an overpass of some sort as it isn’t all that high over street level.
It looks to be near GM Place (or whatever they call the Canucks rink now)…
The folder is called ‘My View,’ so I am guessing these were taken out a window of his.
It’s my balcony. I won the view lottery; I also have an unobstructed view of the North Shore Mountains, from The Lions in the west to Seymour and beyond to Golden Ears in the east. I have some other good shots taken from this vantage that i’ve been procrastinating about putting up on Flickr.
These shots are all taken at around 70-100mm, from the 14th floor here.
Well done Neal
It is an absolutely terrific shot
I am sorry I missed an absolutely terrific thunderstorm when I was cycling the Sunshine Coast this weekend.
I was at Whistler on Saturday night and we also had a tremendous storm there. A sharp wind ushered in tremendous black clouds and the sky turned an angry black, red and orange. In a few moments, large hail was coming down painfully. Last week I saw the black, sooty sky in Ossoyus which was caused by BC fires. Both were daunting sights to behold.
