Threat: words devoted to fighting it
Universal access to assault rifles and armour-piercing bullets should help us adapt to a changing climate. Maintaining access to both, with no pesky waiting periods, is something “we have a sacred duty to protect,” after all.

In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford.
Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

Oh, don’t be a moron liberal.
Watch the video on the climate change page linked:
“Teddy Rosevelt was a great environmentalist.
Ronald Reagan was an environmentalist.
Somehow we [Republicans] have lost our way on the environment.
I believe climate change is real. I think it’s devastating. I think we have to act, and I agree with most experts that we may at some point reach a tipping point where we cannot save our climate. I don’t think we’re there yet. But, the overwhelming evidence is that greenhouse gasses are contributing to warming of our Earth and we have an obligation to take action to fix it.
I believe that America did the right thing by not joining the Kyoto treaty, but I believe that if we could get China and India into it … they should seriously consider on our terms… joining with every other nation in the world to try to reduce greenhouse gasses. It’s got to be a global effort.”
The gun stuff is just to fend off attacks from the idiot right.
I wasn’t trying to villify John McCain personally, just encourage reflection on a few things – not least among them, the odd nature of the American Republican Party and political system as a whole.
