Be warned, GoDaddy is having trouble with their servers again (especially the MySQL servers). This they confirmed when I called them a few minutes ago. Bits of the site keep popping in and out of existence, so bear with it while they continue to engage in whatever form of sorcery they have been building up towards for the last few days. All parts of the blog and wiki have been affected, and the tech support people say they don’t know when it will end.

In the spring of 2005, I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and a general focus in the area of environmental politics. In the fall of 2005, I began reading for an M.Phil in IR at Wadham College, Oxford.
Outside school, I am very interested in photography, writing, and the outdoors. I am writing this blog to keep in touch with friends and family around the world, provide a more personal view of graduate student life in Oxford, and pass on some lessons I've learned here.

I’ve been using GoDaddy hosting for sindark.com for about a year now and have had relatively few problems. No server can be up and running 100% of the time.
Perhaps it’s time to consider a different hosting provider?
Could your troubles have had anything to do with this?
I don’t think so, but it is interesting:
Hackers attempt to break the internet, fail miserably
We had another outage today. Annoying.
I changed the WordPress database error page to be critical of WordPress, for being unreliable in that regard.
GoDaddy hosting has become intolerably slow: is it certainly their fault? If so, can I do anything about it? If it isn’t their fault, what am I doing wrong?
