It seems WordPress wasn't ready for the prime time. By which I mean that I horribly broke it within minutes of the move and simply cannot get it to work again. We get to stick with Blogger for a while yet.

The problem could actually be on the side of your hosting provider (which I happen to know is GoDaddy). See this thread for info.
Just wait and see if the problem fixes itself. If so, it's their fault and you're just causing yourself undue angst until they get their act back together.
In the GoDaddy support pages, it says that all their Linux hosting services include mod_rewrite.

A few minutes ago, my permalinks were broken. Now they work. To me, this suggests that the problem was probably on GoDaddy's end of things, since I wasn't doing anything to any files or settings when the transition happened. After I finish my core seminar paper, I will make another attempt at shifting the WordPress blog to the root of sindark.com, and the Blogger version to sindark.com/blogger/

Designed in Mac OS X for Firefox. To my enormous consternation, I can't get the blog to render properly in all versions of all other browsers at the moment. To those using Internet Explorer, I recommend a better browser: available for Mac, Linux, and Windows.

This page also has information, but I think it's wrong.
