During the past eight weeks:
- My thesis was submitted
- I found an excellent job for next year
- I finished my M.Phil exams
As of today, the college has also replaced our broken refrigerator. It will be good to be able to buy food for a period longer than a few days at a time.
I now have 33 days to arrange my departure from Oxford, return to Vancouver, move to Ottawa, and get to work. I might be able to wheedle in one more trip within Europe before I leave Oxford on July 2nd. I am also looking forward to the third incarnation of Tristan’s Cabin Fever event, to take place between July 6th and 8th.
Congratulations on all three! I hope you enjoy the remaining 33 days – perhaps you could use some of that time to take and post a picture of the infamous Pitt Rivers’ shrunken heads? Wimbledon will also occur in the interim, should that appeal.
two words for you, milan: san sebastián.
Venerable Sir,
Congratulations! I thoroughly enjoyed your Oxford graduation pictures. Very fancy indeed. I hope the government puts your talents in good use because we definitely need progressive thinkers such as yourself on the complex environmental issues that we now face.
On the subject of housing in Ottawa… I am currently renting from a fairly large Ontario land holdings company (see link below). They have a good reputation for having good quality, although their rent is slightly on the higher side. I am unfamiliar with their Ottawa apartments though. You’ll soon find that most landlords want a 12 month lease agreement – it seems to be an Ontario thing… Anyway, happy apartment hunting, and congratulations again!

Let me know when you’re all set up, and I’ll come by to visit!
2 July, not 2 June…
Antonia,
Fixed it. Thanks.
